From his early career in Germany to being a Champions League finalist with Tottenham, Son Heung-min's rise to the top of the game is unsurprising due to his drive and talent. His move to Germany aged 16 saw him enter Hamburg SV's academy and progress to their first team, then to Bayer Leverkusen then, finally, Tottenham in 2015.
- 1. The brace he scored in the Champions League semi-final saw him become the highest-scoring Asian player in the tournament's history.
- 2. His £22 million transfer to Tottenham made him the most expensive Asian player ever.
- 3. He captained his country to win the Asian Cup and avoid military service.
Son will be looking to try and challenge Harry Kane for Tottenham's golden boot award in the future.
